Hunterlab Launches the New SpectraTrendHT Online Colour & Process Tool

Good bye UltraScan XE

On the 30th of June 2010 the UltraScan XE will be retired and CPI Technologies Limited and Hunterlab ( USA ) will not be able to officially supply parts for this machine.

CPI Technologies Limited/Hunterlab ( USA ) have supported the machine for 5 years after the de-production date and due to lack of parts from technology companies will have to say good bye officially on the 30th of June 2010.

Hunterlab ( USA ) have replaced the UltraScan XE with two brand new machines the UltraScan VIS and UltraScan PRO.

The UltraScan® VIS is a visible-range high-performance colour measurement spectrophotometer that measures the full range of human colour perception. It can be used in production and in the laboratory for inspecting raw materials, evaluating finished product or developing methods for colour analysis. A host of measurement features and specialized sample-handling devices make UltraScan VIS a highly versatile colour measurement spectrophotometer. Because of its exceptional inter-instrument agreement and long-term stability, you can be confident that differences between measurements are due to product colour changes, not instrument variability. Materials on the borderline of accepted tolerances will not be unnecessarily rejected.

The UltraScan® PRO is designed to be your reference instrument for measuring both reflected and transmitted colour. It meets CIE, ASTM and USP guidelines for accurate colour measurement. The instrument's 5 nm optical resolution enables it to precisely measure colours using colorants with sharp cutoff characteristics. The D65 illumination source is calibrated in the ultraviolet region for the accurate measurement of whitening agents. The UltraScan PRO has an extended wavelength range into the near infrared and near ultraviolet that permits the measurement of camouflage materials and UV blockers. The system uses diffuse/8° geometry with automated specular component inclusion/exclusion. It also features three sizes of sample measurement areas with automated lens change. The UltraScan PRO uses EasyMatch QC software and an electronic record keeping version that is 21 CFR 11 compliant is available.
